Twitter – Report individual Tweet

Twitter has updated the Twitter Rules and an option to report individual tweet. These changes are implemented following threats received by some prominent female users in the U.K.

They are also in the process to make the ability to reports threats, scam or abuse easier.

To report a Tweet:

  1. Navigate to the Tweet you’d like to report.
  2. Tap the ••• icon to bring up the off-screen menu.
  3. Select Report Tweet and then one of the options below.
  4. Select Submit (or Next if reporting abuse; see below for details) or Cancel to complete the report or block the user.+

"Reporting a Tweet for violations" feature is currently only available on Twitter for iOS and mobile.twitter.com for smartphone browsers. This has been rolled out publicly.

Blocking people on Twitter has been the easiest way to stay away from spammer and abusers earlier. This seems to be an addtional one.

Do you think rules against scam/abuse should be still stronger? Post your thoughts on the Twitter update as comments below…
